Lately I’ve been working really hard behind the scenes to get lots of new photos on the website. Last weekend I turned my attention towards the ‘Save the Date‘ page which I’d had a go at last year but was pretty disappointing with lots of little thumbs nails which you couldn’t click on and not so great photos which didn’t really do the pretty handmade save the dates justice. Well now I’m super pleased with my efforts and think its beginning to look pretty good! Currently we’ve got 9 out of 14 designs on there and I’m going to have another big update over the bank holiday… rock and roll
I prioritised the ‘Save the Date’ gallery as they are becoming more and more popular as couples are setting their wedding date far in advance and want to ensure their nearest and dearest have it in their diaries. I know with my own group of friend just how difficult it is to set a date for dinner as we all live such busy lives so when it comes to such a special day you definitely want to make sure its been reserved for you. This is especially true if guests are coming from overseas and need to make travel plans or if you are having a destination wedding. Again if your wedding is on a weekday and guest will have to take time off work, during the festive season or bank holidays when people make plans far in advance or in the summer when many people book their holidays or may receive invitations to other weddings on the same date. That covers quite a few scenarios so lets say generally they are a pretty good idea
Our handmade save the date cards are available to match all our stationery ranges so they really do help to set the tone of your wedding and give your guests a little peek at whats to come. However if you are undecided on colour theme why not go for a neutral shade – like cream, taupe, black or white – these shades look great – chic and stylish – and they give you the flexibility to incorporate your colour theme into your actual invitations once you’ve had time to pick out flowers and bridesmaid dresses.
Many couples prefer to send their guests an email, text or facebook message nowadays to let their friends and family know their wedding date well in advance and whilst this is quite informal its certainly acceptable. However whilst this might work for your peers it can be a little harder to contact your older relatives this way therefore you may wish to order save the date cards only for some of your guests. We have a minimum order of 10 save the dates so smaller orders can certainly be accommodated.
I’ll leave you with a few more photos of the new save the dates cards. Have a fab Easter 🙂
