On the 11 November 2012, after nearly 8 years together, I married my husband, Adam. It was a wonderful, happy day and I wanted to share a few photos on here. All photographs unless otherwise stated were taken by the lovely Isy at Anderson Jones Photography.
For our wedding invitations I made us ‘Paris‘ pocketfolds for the day guests on ivory board with blackberry ribbon, sent in two-piece presentation boxes with tissue liners. For the evening guests we went with the simpler but stylish ‘La Belle‘ flat invitations with the same ribbons.
I wanted to buy some new fonts for our own invitations and after much deliberation I settled on those shown below. They are now available on our font selection list for our 2013 customers!
We got married on a cold and bright wintry Sunday at Great John Street Hotel – a chic boutique hotel in Castlefield, Manchester with a fantastic roof terrace. The sun had already begun to set for our 4pm ceremony and the room was lit with candles and looked really romantic.
I wore a Charlotte Bailber dress ‘Alice’ which I absolutely fell in love with from the minute I tried it on. It cost way more than I felt I could justify spending on a dress so imagine my delight when I found a sample for sale on Preloved. The only catch was that it was in Derby, oh and two sizes too big. Mum came to the rescue and ferried me back and forth to Derby over the next few months for fittings and the amazingly talented Elaina at Baroque Couture adjusted the dress to fit, completely remaking the top and adding some vintage customisation to really make it unique to me.
My shoes were super comfy and stylish kitten heals from Rachel Simpson – ‘Flo’ – worth every penny.
Adam is the youngest of seven siblings and the only boy so he was lucky enough to be treated to a beautiful Armani suit by his mum. It really did look amazing, so nicely cut and I know he will wear it for years to come.
My lovely bridesmaids – Nicky, Debbie and Kelly – wore different style dresses in the same grape chiffon fabric and looked beautiful.
My friend Molly is a makeup artist on Eastenders and was kind enough to do all our makeup – she’s so talented and we all were really pleased with the results.
The rooms at Great John Street are fabulous so getting ready and drinking champagne with my bridesmaids, Mol and mum was definitely a highlight of the day.
Both the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom looked great in John Charles dresses.
I made us a ‘Paris’ Wedding Post Box for all our wedding cards.
We had a winter barbecue on the terrace which was really delicious and as it was casual seating it took a lot of the hassle out of trying to figure out which table to seat everyone at. I made a framed Order of the Day and Menu which I’ll be adding to the website soon.
Thanks to all my friends and family for sharing it with us and making it such a great day. Here are a few more photos:
